Yo Ric!

Looking really fine over here, I welcome the addition of the little blue markers that show what thread you are reading, they're great.

Do you get a control panel with Herebo that shows you the traffic to the site? Can you see where that traffic is coming from? Are you able to set up the metatags, and let the bots harvest them? Just as importantly, can you put areas off limits?
Can you see the bots, see which are visiting and when?

I just tried what Bogger said and sure enough Google at least is taking the metadata and indexing the first few lines of the header.

One of the things we've done over at c90club is set it up so that the first lines of threads/posts are available for indexing by the bots.

So content of the site is indexed, which over time does indeed reflect 'what you are about'

For instance, I spoke about one of my past cars, registration RUW 761L in a thread titled 'How long have we got?'

Try Googling the reg RUW761L

You will see it's been indexed. We have prevented such indexing on our board names/handles however thinking this was undesirable.

I'd also be interested to see if the domain I donated at the outset which was generating traffic to c90club is now generating traffic for this board. On our server we can tell where the bulk of our hits are coming from, even see how many come straight from here to browse c90club.

Of course what can't be 'odd-sed' is time. Type Honda 90 into Google and it still comes up with Carl Salters page. It's been around for yonks, that's why.

Hopefully, one day we'll knock him off the top slot....

Keep up the good work, love to all! :)

Ps.ag has input. What he just told me is that Google uses 'relevancy of the search term and site description' and then ranks this in the listings by the number of high profile external links it has received.
For instance, his first website, suffolkweather.co.uk topped the listings when he blagged a link to it from the BBC.

Hope this helps! J&J
