Honda C90 Club Illuminations Ride.
It was a real surprise to see so many. There was Spikeyboy (on his Honda Sonic) & 2 friends who came all the way from York about 6 lads from Bolton making in all 13 bikes & there were some really nice Cubs on display.
I thought Bogger was joking when he said “get going fast not your usual 30mphâ€. I got going nice & steady; the traffic was heavy & there was no filtering. I stopped to re-muster & tare ase Bogger came from the back & said “get going faster this lot’ll keep up†so off we went at top C90 speed & we were at the Airport in no time.
We filtered through the traffic to the Tower, the illuminations were up to their usual fantastic standard & at the Tower a sound & light show was being projected onto the brickwork. We saw loads of blinged-up vans passing by which I was told was the “Vans for life “sponsored charity run & Tom Robinson said that he passed about 50 of them in convey going to Blackpool on the motorway when he was on his way to Preston .
Of course this stop was the ideal opportunity to nip into Weatherspoon’s for a little refreshment which some of us did. I remember that the year before last someone was offered “sex on the beach†by a member of a hen party in Weatherspoon but the wise person decided it was best to ride his bike instead (a very wise man).
