If it was not taxed around the early 80's (can't remember the exact year), then it probably won't be on dvla's system. Dvla updated there system but a lot, if not all untaxed vehicles failed to make it on to there new computer system.
Some one might still have the bike and the log book for it. Keep hunting round for it. It might appear some where.
Dvla can be a right bunch of useless idiots at times. Its luck of the draw when contacting them. Some times you get a knowledgeable and helpful person, other times the complete opposite.
