Hi Bob & Peter,

The historic thread feature was added by direct request of numerous people.
I was caught out several times on the old board with threads that fell off the bottom before I had read them.

The way I think about it, I have built this site (from scratch) using my knowledge & time, but most importantly - using the guidance and input of everyone here.

Unfortunately not everyone can get their way all the time. Sometimes I have had to go with the majority, or have thought a suggestion is particularly good and added it as subtly as possible. The way I see it (and feel free to correct me if I am wrong), if you don't want to look through older threads, then you don't have to. But others might want to, so let them.

Bob, you missed a dark time on the other board, and somehow the whole thing crashed one morning. Fortunately this site was already waiting in the wings, and went from zero to running in a single day (if you look back you can read some of the first threads, though some seem to have fallen out of their trees).

Anyway, If you have an idea, please let me know, as I will happily look into coding it in, or out...
