The left hand switchgear from an LAC model has a lever, originally a brake lever. It works for some, some find the travel a little short, sometimes helped by bending the lever out a bit. 50-50 as to it snapping.
The other solution is a clutch lever as found on old Brit bikes, inboard of the leftside switchgear. This may require trimming back of the plastic cowls. (12v models)
