So... here goes..

Who's up for an adventure to Ireland?

The Ring of Kerry is the biggest ride in Ireland and attracts over 200 Honda C50s C70s, C90s

It is one of the events on my bucket list and I wondered if any other C90 folks wanted to join me in the trip?

Ride Information

Here is a little information from Noel Brosnan from Killarney Co Kerry

"The Ring of Kerry Honda 50 challenge takes place on the June bank holiday weekend. This years run will be on the 31 may. The run is 110 miles long and last year we had 197 bikes we also have a short run on the Saturday of 40 miles. Its the most popular run in Ireland that's why we get up to 200 bikes. The cost of the run is 25 euro we have food at half way stop and again when we get back to Killarney. The run coincides with a bike festival in Killarney the same weekend and this year we have been invited to par take in the parade with 2500 other bikes through the streets in Killarney on the morning of the ring of Kerry run so that will be some sight."

Travel to Ireland

I have been given a contact at a ferry booking service and its possible I will able to get a good discount on the
ferry prices for a group of Honda C90 bike and riders. But I need an idea on numbers ready to contact the ferry service.

I'm going to do the travel and the event over about a week.

1) Travel to Holyhead + Ferry crossing (yet to be booked)
2) 200 miles from Dublin to Killarney
3) 40 mile ride on Saturday 30th
4) 110 mile Ring of Kerry challenge
5) 200 miles to Dublin
6) Ferry and Holyhead to home

This will include 2 seperate nights stay in Dublin and 3 nights in Killarney (lots of cheap hostels available)

Sleeping arrangements

I myself will be finding accommodation in Killarney. Hostels are cheap at the moment and I will be booking next month as I don't want to leave it till last minute and all the places to stay have been taken. Some of the Irish hire Holiday homes and share the cost between them (sometimes cheaper than hotel). For anyone wishing to camp I looked on google and theres a site close to Killarney.

Dates

For all the plans to work we would need:

Ferry crossing on Thursday 28th May
Travel to Killarney Friday 29th May
40 mile ride Saturday 30th May
Ring of Kerry ride Sunday 31st May
Travel to Dublin Monday 1st June
Ferry and travel home Tuesday 2nd June

Please let me know if you would like join in the trip and I can get a rough idea on numbers and get a price for the ferry crossing :D

Thanks!
