The peace and tranquility of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside was shattered today as a band of 3 Honda step-through shopping moped enthusiasts took to the roads to satisfy their lust for speed and excitement.

It all started in the usual place outside the aquarium, Matlock Bath. The attendance was 100% of all that said they would attend and no one had to be labelled a 'Jibber'

I myself decided to take 'Brenda', my 29 year old classic original Blue Honda C90 and this next photo shows the affection she has earned from my fellow riders.

Our first port of call was Milldale where we stumbled across a quaint little shop that was part of someones house. Vic soon found the bell which summoned the proprietor and began the lengthy negotiations to purchase a hot beverage and sandwich despite his somewhat empty wallet.

We then sat a while reflecting on the serenity as we stuffed our faces with food stopping occasionally to drop a few crumbs for the ducks.

After riding a further 20 miles we found ourselves in Staffordshire and the, so far elusive, sun started to make an appearance. Encouraged by this, we all pulled up at a pub car park to admire our new surroundings and I couldn't help but notice my fellow riders to be confused as to what was more interesting with both having a different opinion.

The next step of our journey involved the steep and sometimes dangerous climb up the A54 into Buxton. We parked near to the famous spring water tap but were distracted by what appeared to be, a miniture bus.

It was in fact a glorified milk float and the driver's request for £5.00 from me, just for taking a photograph, enraged me so much, I believe I may have swore under my breathe! Not wishing to spoil the lovely day we were having, I simply returned to my fellow riders who were entertaining an interested passer-by with facts about our magnificent machines. Photo shows Arry highlighting the classic lines of my 29 year old honest C90.

The final destination of our 'day out in the community' was to be at Ladybower Damn (excuse the language).

Once again it was feeding time and we all took advantage of the excellent choice of hot food available. I personally thought that my sausage bap at £2.50 represented value for money and filled a hole that kept me going until I arrived back home. Both Vic and myself also made sure that Arry ate enough to sustain him for the return journey and the photo below shows his contentment when returning from the shop. Either that or he'd just spotted my 29 year old classic original C90.

And so Its a fond farewell as we leave behind the pictureque scenery of the Peak District riding off our separate ways but vowing to return soon.
