Had SORN the Cub for last couple of months as MOT had expired and too busy etc., and cancelled a previous MOT appointment when I discovered that the original battery (2003)had completely died - after 11 years faithful service.

YUSA - respect!!!

Probably been dead longer, but as the bike kicked starts effortlessly with a dead battery it was only when the neutral failed to light upon turning the ignition key, that I investigated more closely - unrecoverable according to Optimate; as if I needed telling after all those years.
Didn't prevent the bike from running or lights operating etc., luvverly jubberly. :D

- 11 years, is that a record?

So a new YUSA (had to be another YUSA) battery charged and fitted and I dropped in on a same-day MOT this morning at a MOT-while-you-wait merchant.

As it has done since I've owned it from 2006 - the Cub passed as it has every single year. XD

Called in at local PO - only Registration document req. Try as I might the girl had no interest in seeing me insurance credentials.

That's because you already know online isn't?
No - that's the government, were the post office and we don't know if you're insured or not and have no interest, when SORN'd all we need is your registration document.

(Think she looked at the SORN too).

So log book and SORN only - and taxed from Aug 1st. More delight. (Thought you couldn't have next month's road tax unless it was concurrent (ran out in May).

Anyway, taxed'n'tested on the road all in on the same day all-in for £37 (that's £20 for the MOT & £17 road tax).

The simple pleasures in life are the best :) A sweet, effortless, day.
