using chinese generator backplate

I'm cobbling up, I mean carefully preparing a cub engine, from "stuff on the shelf". I have found a chinese backplate .which fits, with correct timing etc, but the ignition coil is at the 12 o clock position, rather than 6 o clock.
Has anyone tried the chinese backplates with honda flywheel successfully? I guess it should be ok, as there seems to be 4 magnets, any hints chaps/chappesses?
