Wuyang Front Tyre Blowout

I've just got back home after fetching back my son-in-laws Wuyang after he had a front tyre blow out on the notorius A38.It's a dual carrage way between Lichfield and Burton,well known for accidents.I would think he would have been doing close to 55-60,knowing how he rides.Luckily the artic behind him saw he was in trouble and slowed,put his hazzards on,and blocked both carriageways.He says he actually fell off at about 25-30.Considering he was wearing full armoured riding gear I'm quite supprised how much damage was done to it.Both gloves torn as was his jacket & trousers,even his jeans were ripped.He's in A&E at the moment,walking wounded,with bashed knees and cut thumb.The bike came off slightly better than him with a ripped seat,damaged mirror,dented front wheel and just scaped plastics.He still has the LOVE though
