C90 sluggish and jerking sometimes

Hi all,

I have just purchased another 1985 c90. Pristine condition.

It changes through the gears seamlessly but when I get to the top end of each gear it jerks and becomes sluggish for a few seconds until I change gear and it's fine an smooth until I open te throttle more and happens again. It doesn't seem like a worrying engine fault more of a mixture problem, I presume. .it also does this when a big gust of air hits the bike, I notice it becomes sluggish and slows considerably.
It's recently been in dry storage for the last month and the chap looked after it well going to and from work. He cleaned te carb 2 years ago. It's full of a new tank of petrol. It has 55k on the clock.

I have noticed a similar problem with the wind on my old cub not sure what it is but I'm sure it's related to the air filter or mixture. Please let me know if you guys know what to tweak.. Could it be valve clearances , not sure where to start.

I also have a sports cub air filter a round cylinder type one has anyone installed one of these and noticed an improvement and if mine is dirty I guess this could help.

Any advice would be appreciated.
