Hi Folks,

I've had a bit of a sleep, and I've just read Cee Gee's post about the show, and I can appreciate what he said about a day visit. Nineteen quid just to get in does seem a bit over the top, particularly as the food was also quite expensive at £5 for a burger, £3 for an ice cream, £2 for a small bottle of coke etc.... o.O
Also the displays in the main arena were of variable quality, some good, some a bit rubbish.

However, as a CAMPING WEEKEND, it struck me as altogether better value....
OK, so It cost me £39 pre-booked, but for that you got a decent level pitch on the show ground itself, proper toilets and free hot showers. (on occasion I've paid 10 quid a night to camp on a field with little more than a water tap and a portaloo ).
Plus on Friday and Saturday nights, there were live bands on at two different venues (no charge, wander in, wander out at will). Heavy rock in the main hall, and blues/folk in the smaller hall, both with a real ale bar at reasonable prices 8).
There was unlimited free access to the show from 9am till gone midnight, and so you could pick and chose what to watch, or wander round the campsite, or pop out for a ride and buy some food at sensible prices!!!

Here are a few random pics:

How to pitch a tent when you've forgotten to bring the tent pegs...... err, not mine I hasten to add.

1000cc sidecar racing. Words cannot express how fast and dangerous these things looked

Ed March's round the world cub, personally I wouldn't have trusted it to the Co-op.

Sunday afternoon and ready for the off. If you look carefully you can just see the ends of a set of Givi pannier frames sticking out the back of my top box. I got them at the auto jumble for just a fiver <g> <g> <g> . Got to be the bargain of the weekend!!!

See you all at Barmouth (God willing)

John
