Well so far I've tried Hot water with washing up liquid, white spirit,
and isopropanol. Isopropanol seemed to have some effect but not a lot.

I know thinners would melt plastic vinyl so I would stay well clear of that.
might try Meths and the car shampoo idea tomorrow.
